About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Tower Operations Manager to join our Air Traffic Services team in Christchurch. This is a new role which requires extensive experience in Aviation, fantastic people leadership and strong operational knowledge. Reporting to the Head of Aerodrome Services, this role is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of Air Traffic Services at Christchurch and Nelson Towers, ensuring the full engagement and development of the unit controllers, and creating strong working relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
About you
Ideally you will have Aviation experience, extensive knowledge of Airport operations and Air Navigation Services and associated legislative framework. You will be an experienced people leader, skilled at motivating and empowering others to work effectively to achieve business unit, group, and organisational goals.
As an outstanding and natural communicator, you will have the maturity and confidence to interact with people from all walks of life and your stakeholder relationship skills will be second to none. This role at times can be complex, so we need someone with a collaborative and inclusive work style who can navigate our operational and governance landscapes.
In addition, you will have:
- Extensive leadership experience with an ability to lead multi shift workers in a dynamic environment
- Proven experience managing operational teams. Ideally in a critical service role or operational shift workers role
- Previous ATC experience, ideally within NZ or other equivalent overseas location would be advantageous
