About the Team:
Aeropath is a business unit within AIL and offers a unique and wide range of services in aeronautical information management (AIM) and the design of instrument flight procedures (IFP). Aeropath operates domestically and internationally, and our customers include airports, airlines, pilots, ANSPs and civil aviation authorities.

The data found in airliners and control towers around the world is only possible thanks to the work of AIM teams globally. Their efforts ensure the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of aeronautical information that underpins aviation safety.

Reflecting the complex and ever evolving digital nature of aeronautical information, we are about to embark on a large, multi-year modernisation programme. This includes digitisation of data and business workflows and will require significant software development.

About the AIM Team Structure:
Each team leader leads a new sub-team of AIM Specialists within Data, Digital Delivery and Publication specialist areas. To deliver business outcomes and the modernisation programme, and as there is a significant overlap between functional areas, multiple or cross-functional skillset and collaborative mindset is highly desirable.

Data:
Dedicated to managing and evolving static and dynamic aeronautical and geospatial data that underpin aviation operations. This includes coordinating survey and originator submissions, maintaining databases, and supporting publication workflows. Dynamic activities include the timely processing of NOTAM information that informs aviation decision-making. The data team also provides geospatial services through mapping, spatial analysis, and digital visualisation, supporting the industry’s increasing demand for high-quality aeronautical data.

Digital Delivery:
Digital AIM services is focused on the development, support and delivery of emerging digital AIM products and services, including provision of data sets via API, web-accessible systems and services, and bespoke digital AIM products. This will be achieved in collaboration with other areas of AIL and wider Airways, so knowledge and experience in software delivery methodologies and frameworks in complex environments is required.

Publishing:
Aeronautical Information Publishing (AIP) is a core AIM business function, including aeronautical technical editing and charting functions, with management of AIRAC change and publishing cycles. Desktop publishing includes document creation and management, customised flight guides, eAIP (AIP.NET) content management, printshop liaison and publication assurance.
