Chief Controller | Palmerston North

You will be working for one of the world's leading air navigation service providers, responsible for air traffic within New Zealand's 30 million square kilometres of airspace. We are award winning, recognised as being market leaders, and focused on delivering service excellence to our customers. 

In this position, you will be leading a close-knit team of controllers in our Palmerston North regional Tower, championing high standards and excellence in training to safely and successfully deliver services to our customers every day.  Whilst this is predominantly, a leadership role you will be required to hold a current ATC license. As a Chief Controller, you will represent the face of Airways to our customers and within our business; you will have the ability to communicate across many layers while actively supporting the aims of our company to deliver a safe, efficient and sustainable service. 

The successful applicants will:

  • Have displayed an impressive ability to lead others and effectively manage the safe and efficient delivery of Air Traffic Services
  • Have proven experience in building positive and professional relationships with customers
  • Have experience maintaining optimum proficiency standards and ATS training
  • Be willing and able to obtain Controller ratings and OJTI check ratings
  • Have a current controller license
  • Previous experience of controlling at a Tower

The role of Chief Controller will initially be for two years renewable for a further term by mutual agreement.  At the end of the agreed term you would revert to a controller position or alternatively you may seek a further leadership role within Airways.
