About the Team:
The People & Partnerships Group manages our
people, customer and stakeholder relationships, communications, sustainability,
and strategy. They ensure an integrated approach to managing internal and
external relationships, promoting a customer-focused and engaged workplace
culture. They oversee strategic customer and stakeholder relationships,
communications, and the development of Airways Corporate Strategy, including
sustainability.
The Group plays a critical role in supporting the
business to achieve its objectives by providing high-quality internal service
and advice that is proactive, innovative, and impactful.
About the Role:
We have a permanent full-time opportunity for a senior level Human Resources Business Partner to
join us at our Auckland office.
This role is based in The Quad (Leonard Isitt
Drive, Auckland Airport) which is within walking distance from Woolworths,
Chemist Warehouse, Jetts Fitness, cafes, take-away shops, and restaurants.
Reporting to the Manager HR Business Partnering & Employment
Relations, you will provide the full suite of operational and strategic human
resources advice, guidance and partnership to the Senior Leadership Team and
executives, while delivering both BAU and project work.
With no day the same, you will need to work at pace
and engage with a team of HR specialists (e.g. Remuneration & People Experience) whilst building
credibility and maintaining robust internal relationships.
The HR team is comprised of:
- Manager HR Business Partnering & Employment Relations
- HR Business Partner x 3 (including this role)
- Senior HR Advisor
- HR Advisor (part-time)
- HR Coordinator.

About You:
You’ll be a natural communicator, able to have
robust conversations (in layman’s terms), guiding people leaders to grow their
confidence and capability. You’ll also be self-driven, pragmatic and hold the
confidence needed to work across the organisation in a fast-paced, dynamic
State-Owned Enterprise (SOE).
In addition to the above, to be successful in the role you will have:
- Ideally a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial & Organisational Psychology, or equivalent experience in human resources in New Zealand or internationally.
- Hands-on experience working as a Human Resources Business Partner/Consultant.
- Exposure to a unionised environment and a solid understanding of NZ employment law.
- Solid commercial acumen with a proactive nature and outcome focused.
- Genuine interest working side by side
with colleagues (within HR and across the business) on projects that help make
the culture and workplace better - this includes taking a key role in change
initiatives to build efficiency and performance.
Beneficial:
Previous experience in the aviation, transport, or
technology industries.
