About the Team:
The Technology Group is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the infrastructure that enables Airways to deliver its Air Traffic Management services nationally and within our Pacific FIR. Airways technical assets are spread widely across the country and form a resilient mission critical infrastructure of national significance. Systems are often located in areas that are remote.

Technology Group is the most diverse business unit within Airways in terms of job functions and locations. That diversity means it presents a highly complex safety environment.

About the Role:
This is a critical newly created permanent full-time role as Technology Group Safety Specialist that will be based in our Christchurch based campus.

This role will support the Senior Safety Specialist with Line 1 activities across the diverse and complex Technology Group as part of the Airways 3 lines of defence model.

Additionally, this role will provide health, safety and wellbeing subject matter expertise (SME) to the Manager Technology Safety and Regulatory Compliance and wider Technology Group Management Team, being responsible for the delivery of key areas of the Technology Group (TG) Safety & Compliance programme.

About You:
For success, you will have:

  • 2+ years’ experience in complex operational Health and Safety environments with high-risk activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act, industry best practices, standards and codes of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and facilitating the implementation of critical risk audit programmes.
  • Supported the delivery of behavioural safety training to leadership and operational teams.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the planning and delivery of safety improvement projects.
  • Proficiency in Office365 suite including SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI reporting.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, collaborate with people, show resilience and agility, take ownership and focus on delivering successful outcomes.

Beneficial:
Relevant tertiary qualification/courses in OHS or equivalent experience in a complex operational health and safety environment.
