About the Role:
We are looking for a Training Operations Coordinator to join Airways International Limited (AIL) in Christchurch.
This is a varied and hands-on coordination role supporting the effective day-to-day delivery of AIL’s training services. You’ll work across training technologies, course and learner administration, selection activities, quality documentation and customer support, helping ensure our learners, instructors and customers receive a consistent, organised and responsive experience.
You’ll support the administration and improvement of learning and assessment platforms, coordinate course enrolments and training records, assist with domestic and international training delivery, and support applicant testing and assessment activities through SureSelect. You’ll also work with instructors, customers, suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues, manage competing priorities and keep training activities running smoothly.
The role also has a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement. You’ll help maintain accurate and secure records, support training governance and audit requirements, document processes and identify opportunities to improve the way our training products and services are delivered.
While this role does not deliver air traffic control instruction, you’ll work closely with the people, systems and processes that enable world-class aviation training.
About You:
You’ll be a highly organised and adaptable coordinator who enjoys working across technology, administration, people and processes. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities, taking ownership of problems and finding practical solutions to keep things moving.
You’ll bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification at Level 6 or above, with a degree preferred
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within aviation, training or education
- Confidence learning and administering digital platforms, including managing users, settings and day-to-day system support
- The ability to troubleshoot common technology issues and escalate more complex matters appropriately
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Excel
- Excellent planning, organisation and attention to detail
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- A strong customer focus and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Sound judgement, initiative and a commitment to maintaining accurate, secure and compliant records.
Experience coordinating customer-facing training programmes, working in a high-tempo training environment, developing presentations or eLearning content, or using AI tools to improve training and operational resources would be an advantage.
You’ll thrive in an environment where priorities can change, collaboration is essential and quality matters. Most importantly, you’ll bring a proactive approach, a willingness to learn and a commitment to helping deliver an excellent experience for our learners and customers.
To Apply:
If you’re an organised, tech-savvy coordinator who enjoys working with people, systems and processes, we’d love to hear from you! Join Airways International and play an important role in supporting the delivery of world-class aviation training.
Application closing date is Thursday, 19 November 2026.
Please note that you must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand to be considered.
The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks relevant to the role, including reference and criminal conviction checks.
